The main objective of this study is a review and evaluation of the status of archives and records management in Dominica and an examination and analysis of the need for and benefits of a national archives and record management programme. Recommendations cover appointment of experienced archivist records manager on contract, recruitment of appropriate support staff; staff training; conservation of records, provision of suitable facilities in the short term; construction of a purpose built archival building in the long term and enactment of archival legislation.
