Dominica (Tourism) Economic impact of tourism on selected CDB borrowing member countries; draft final report - df. - [1995] - ill., tbls.

Dominica is often perceived as the eco-tourism centre of the Eastern Caribbean and indeed as one of the few unspoilt areas in the world. The island is volcanic in orgin with rugged, forest-covered, deep valleys in most of the interior and narrow coastal strips. For the most part, the high hills plunged into deep waters with many unexplored reefs will provide some of the most exciting diving in the world. Beaches are generally pebbly with black sand except for the area around Portsmouth in the north-east of the island.
