Prospects for geothermal development in Dominica - 22 p.
Forecast for average load growth up to the year 2000 is approximately seven percent . The capabilities of the existing and proposed hydro expansion plant are discussed, however demand indicates the need for another non-diesel plant before 1993 to avoid excess expenditure on fuel. Options are outlined and costings given, if the geothermal option is adopted. A strategy for geothermal development is proposed together with a tentative programme (up to 1996). Appendices include a summary of geothermal scientific reports, cost of geothermal development and a comparison of cost for hydro, diesel and geothermal energy production.
