Author employs participatory research methodology to assess and analyse the training needs of Adult Education Practitioners. The study presents a profile of the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed by such practioners and examines the ability of existing programmes to pass on needs. The lack of policy on training is noted and a training model, where practitioners identify the knowledge and skill they require, is given. The organisers of training programmes use their self-assessment to organize programmes tailored to their needs.
