Foreign television dominates the airwaves in the Caribbean. This is facilitated by satellite communication. At least 76 percent of TV programming viewed in the Caribbean is foreign with an expected increase in the coming years. The Caribbean Publishing and Broadcasting Association concludes that national and regional communications policies must be established to facilitate the creation of alternatives means of intra-regional communications and at the same time limit the spread of foreign programming and stations for Caribbean consumption.
