Loan and guarantee facilities (medium and long term credits) OECS capital markets and financial institutions project: option papers - Washington D.C. March 1989 - [158 p.]

Small and medium size enterprises are the least favoured banking recipients of the OECS banking systems. Commercial banks specialized in consumer credit, while development banks have limited medium and long term funds provided by the Caribbean Development Banks. Large enterprises rarely experience difficulties in funding their operations while micro-business are funded by the National Development Foundations. Recommends the establishment of specific loan facilities along with credit guarantee facilities by an OECS central organization.
