Summary, etc. During the address at the launch of the Castries branch of the Caribbean Banking Corporation in St Lucia, governor Dwight K. Venner of the Eastern Caribbean central bank highlighted the need for economic resilience and financial inclusion across the region. Venner drew attention to the key role of the financial sector as a driver of economic, stability, and development, in small island economies in particular. He highlighted the urgent necessity for banks to apply innovative and inclusive approaches in order to enhance the provision of financial services, especially to disadvantaged population. In addition, he emphasized the importance of collaborative effort and regionalism in order to deal with shared problem and leverage opportunities in the Eastern Caribbean.
