This report documents two sequential initiatives led by Gunter Haltmayer, a German potter and ovenbuilder. The ASA project (September–November 1989) focused on the design and testing of improved energy-efficient ovens across the Eastern Caribbean. It was followed by the GCP project (December 1989–January 1990), which involved constructing and evaluating an experimental open-oven in Roseau, Dominica. Both projects employed sustainable, locally adaptable technology in improved baking methods in small-scale Caribbean settings.<br/> |
