Examines the possibility of the establishment of a national property tax. The different types of property tax possible and existent property taxes are outlined. The importance of a Cadastral survey an a pre-requisite to property taxes and the cost and benefits of a fiscal cadastral are discussed. Existing information, (in the form of records and plans for crown lands, agricultural censuses and land title deeds) appears considerable though fragmentary, legislation is however critical for the initiation of a cadastral survey. |
