Examines the potential for fisheries development in Dominica taking into account the implications of the island's possible exclusive economic zones (EEZ). Describes the fisheries sector "as an artisanal sector comprising small boats and canoes using traditional fishing technique and having a very simply marketing structure". The study concludes that a policy decision on fisheries development supported by an adequately staffed fisheries unit and a strong public relations program are essential factors in fisheries development. The act to establish Dominica's EE2 is appended. |
