Summary, etc. Rural schools are more often incomplete than urban schools, especially in developing countries and particularly in Africa (Section 1). School capacity is consistently higher in urban than in rural areas, both in terms of pupils accommodated and in terms of number of classrooms (Section 2). On the other hand, compared to the corresponding population and enrollment, rural schools are generally more numerous than urban schools (Section 3).
