Provides analysis of present and future refuse generation rate throughout the island that shows that solid waste collection techniques in Dominica have to cope with collecting small quantities of refuse in difficult terrain combined with long haul distances to disposal. It proposes a disposal concept in Dominica of utilizing only one landfill site. It examines rehabilitation of the existing stock farm landfill site at Roseau to create sufficient disposal capacity to serve the entire island for another four to six years of a low cost. It offers an environmental impact assessment that shows the proposed site at Fond Cole that is suitable for landfill purposes. It includes detailed designs which avoids environmental pollution and allows for sanitary operations of the Fond Cole landfill site.
