The Second Conference of State Parties to the MESECVI held in Caracas, Venezuela on July 9-10, 2008, marked the first Multilateral Evaluation Round of the Inter-American Convention on the Prevention, Punishment and Eradication of Violence against Women ("Belem do Para Convention"). The resulting Hemispheric Report presented key decisions, conclusions, and arrangements for monitoring implementation across member States, highlighting challenges, best practices, and commitments to strengthen legal, institutional, and policy frameworks addressing violence against women in the region.
