The survey, which was conducted using self administered questionnaires, showed that on the average summer tourist spent more, although the North American tourist spent more on the average in winter. The expenditure of winter tourist staying in hotels was significantly higher than summer. The greater percentage of the tourist dollar was spent on accommodation with local transportation getting the next largest share of the dollar.
