Tali Gal's 'Child Victims and Restorative Justice: A Needs-Rights Model' proposes a framework to address the shortcomings of traditional justice systems for child victims. It integrates children’s human rights (from the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child) with their psychosocial needs creating a needs-rights model. This model evaluates how effectively criminal justice and restorative justice meet child victims’ requirements for protection, participation, rehabilitation, and emotional healing, ultimately guiding the development of safe and child-inclusive restorative justice practices
