Discusses participants definition of citizenship education and their suggested aims and contents for such programme. It inform of providers of citizenship education programmes; describes formal and non-formal programmes and the innovative approaches employed to involve target groups. Outcomes of impact of these programmes are also given. Presents themes, trends and issues to be addressed related to individual as citizen covering values, identity, differences, diversity, inequality and good citizen; society including democracy and governance, socio-economic issues and education systems and policy, content, delivery and evaluation of citizens education programmes. Concludes with an action agenda.
