520			_aThis updated National Gender Policy and Action Plan 2014-2024 is a revised version of the National Policy and Action Plan for Gender Equity Equality in the Commonwealth of Dominica, which was adopted by the Cabinet of Dominica in June 2006. It is aligned to the rights of the individual in Dominica's 1978 constitution, and the government's national development framework. The policy is consistent with the government's commitments and obligations under a number of international treaties, conventions and arguments. The action plan is an accountability mechanism for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the policy, and includes measurable targets for advancing gender equality.
