520 _a During the eighties overall economic growth has been unstable and sluggish. The country experienced difficulty in servicing debts contracted during the late 1960's and the 1970's. In order to reverse this trend the government has aggressively pursued a market-oriented export-led growth strategy. This has resulted in increases in the export of coffee, ground-nuts, clothing and textiles and further increases are expected.
